And Then It’s Over

Summer. It has gone so fast. It’s now been replaced by darkened skies and threats of rain all day. And of course what better time for the rain to drop than when people are about to go home from work.

That of course is the easy part. What keeps people and travelers worried is whether that tropical depression that’s been recently spotted over the Pacific Ocean will turn into a typhoon/storm/cyclone. Typhoon season is not fun.

Now before you go canceling your travel plans to the Philippines between June to September, read my disclaimer: not all of the Philippine archipelago experience the same weather pattern. While some parts are being battered by a storm, it will be a drizzle in other parts and the rest will be dry and sunny. Do me a favor and don’t ask me what the weather is gonna be in December or in 2013. Like everything else, patterns change. And I am no psychic.

While I admit there is relief from the scorching heat, what I will miss the most is the abundance of sunsets.  I love sunsets and I probably have collected hundreds of photos of them. I am lucky to be living in a tropical country surrounded by oceans that one doesn’t have to go far to catch one.

Here are some of my favourites:

Nasugbu, Batangas
Roxas Boulevard, Manila
Donsol, Sorsogon
Pandan Island, Antique
Boracay Island
Malapascua Island
Coron, Palawan
La Union
